Where will you be my darling? Where will you be when the dark is rising?

Been dead, dead tired.
Excluding the weekend, I've only slept 15 hours! Aye -.-
Anyhoo, yesterday I went for the preaching challenge prelims. Yeah, me! I joined because last year for Emerge, James asked me to join along with him, but we didn't in the end. So since I didn't join last year, I thought I'd keep my promise and join up here instead. I prepared it a little less than a week back and had it edited by Hazel, VU's cluster leader. I preached to her 3 times on Friday night and she said I had good content, but I needed to preach, not present. So yeah.
James picked me up in the morning and I did all the admin stuff. Then, I watched as the participants continued to preach and all. And then after that, it was my turn! HECK! I had the loudest cheers out of most of the people and that only made me more nervous. I was preaching in the main auditorium, in front of at least a hundred people. Zzz. Well, for one thing, I was freaking nervous and my left hand (not holding the microphone) was shaking the whole time. My voice was steady, but it wasn't preachy-style. Instead, it was quite my normal voice, which was a good and bad thing. Good thing is, if you know me, then you'd know I preach the same way I talk, and I looked real and genuine. Bad thing is, its called a preaching challenge, and preaching does require stresses and tones on certain parts, which I didn't do very often. Also, I spoke WAY too fast, according to everyone. I already speak naturally fast, plus add in my nervousness, I was probably a machine gun! All in all, I kept it below the 5 minute mark, and I did get some audience responses even when I didn't intend to. Whew! Thankfully, I did have supporters. Quite a number from my cellgroup, plus Cindy, Peter and Eldy from W9 also.
Overall, I have to say that for the members category, it was understandable to see a lot of nervousness. Obviously the leader's category did much better, but I'm not going to compare. I went for lunch with W9 at Lai Kong and later followed them to Sunway Pyramid to go grocery shopping. Haha! I followed Cindy, Ervina and Carol back to their place to rest and took a much needed half hour sleep. You wouldn't believe how refreshing it is to get some rest after a week of hell -.-. Some member later drove us all to church and I sat with them for service. Since I was sitting beside Cindy, we talked a lot about stuff, and I learned a lot about dancing. Revelational, really.
Anyhoo, Pastor Kevin spoke a great message about God's order. Interesting to note was that Pastor held the altar call before he started preaching, and only one person responded! I'm not putting down anyone... it's just I've never seen this happen before. I'm used to altar calls being held after the sermon, not after offering. Although its nice to know someone came to church just to respond to Jesus =D.
Had fellowship at some place that was recently built. It's inspired by Bugis Street, so you can see a few similarities. Had a great meal and chat, before going home dead, dead tired.
Finally slept properly! I enjoyed yesterday very much.
After all, as Hui Wearn said: "Good job."
(I left out a lot of details on what happened yesterday)
