Aye, the last few weeks have been a pleasure with friends, but a pain with school.

Last semester, Ruzanna's friend Olivia, needed the most badass-looking person she knew. Unsurprisingly or not, Ruzanna picked me -.-. Lmao. So I ended up helping with Olivia's photoshoot for her assignment. Guess what I was? I was a human trafficker! LOL. I needed to reprise my role again since she was continuing the same thing this semester, so I ended up being the drug trafficker again. Although it was just a photoshoot last semester, this time round it was a video shoot instead. I needed to show regret, but with a certain sort of aloofness that I'm doing what I'm doing.

Samantha Teoh joined us later, plus one of their classmates, to help do the voice recording. It was bloody funny, and the mistakes and all just added to it. Samantha doesn't specialize in Mandarin, so yeah, it was ironic. I spoke too fast on some occasions, but at least mine was in English. That other friend also helped to the Mandarin voices for another character. They were my victims!

Also on recording, our band just recorded our first music video! Last weekend, Astro Talentquest had a winner or contestant that needed to do a music video for one of his songs, and they needed back up musicians to fill in for the background. Our band was chosen, and in return for the favour, they'd do a music video for us. I had class on Saturday, which spoiled my mood due to Leon's critiques, and See Jek's arrogance in proclaiming her group was supposed to go first before mine. Regardless, I rushed over with Ryan to a place near Jalan Alor and we filmed ourselves on the rooftop of a slightly run down apartment. Music videos are done by just pretending you're doing what is on the music track, and there's no actual sound. We headbanged, played our instruments, had close ups done and some other random stuff for the video. There was one scene where we needed to stand behind this emo looking girl, and according to all of them, I looked the most fierce. Haha! Woots!

Anyway, I'm on a one week holiday now. Exploration week isn't a proper holiday but hell, to me it is. I had lunch with Miki yesterday, to catch up on our lives and just hang out, so she took me out to this ban mee place. Pretty good!

Class this semester is quite tiring. Leon's class of corporate identity 2 is probably the worst, but everything else is still alright. Friends-wise, I haven't been hanging out with the usual Essenism group as a whole due to a lack of timetable clashes. The days I have school are the days they don't, and vice versa. However, I've still been hanging out regularly with Miki, Justin and all, so thats good. For my class, I've been hanging out with a different group too, since Neal and Ash aren't classmates anymore. Been hanging out regularly with Zi Yuan, Julina and I guess you could say an added addition of Angela. Her close friends in class have all quit or failed, so same situation as me. Lol. My latest group for an assignment is made up of Ivan, Hui Han, Wai Wai and Tommy. Except for Tommy, I've never got to talk to the others regularly. So I guess its something new. Let's see how it goes.

A few weeks back, a few days after the Groove in Motion gig, I attended the official launch of AXE. Ryan from ANK told us about it. He said his friend was one of the organizers, and that there'd be free flow of beer! Plus a lot of hot chicks. Free flow of beer and plenty of chicks? How can you say no? Lol... Joseph and Kai, surprisingly. Joseph headbanged himself to an MC, and Kai didn't come, even though he bragged he would bring 10 Russian girls in. A group of 5 girls get a bottle of either Absolut Vodka, Chivas, gin and tonic or tequila.

Invitation was done through Facebook, where you just registered, and just hoped that they'd send you an invite. Luckily, even though I signed up really late, I got my invite. And joining me were Ryan and his girlfriend, their friend Aaron, Radius and I. I also bumped into my cousin Terry there. Long time no see!

The event was held in Euphoria aka Ministry of Sound KL. And I'm in this picture! Although I'm tiny. I'm the guy directly below the centre of the disco ball. I think you can tell its me.

Free flow of Carlsberg beer. I only managed to drink 6 glasses in 2 hours, 'cause the bar was so crowded. It ran out after that. Geez. So fast.

A few of the AXE girls. AXE is a type of deodorant that brands itself as a scent that's irresistable to women. They launched 5 scents that night. My favourite was perhaps the chocolate scent. The girls would go around spraying the scent on some paper, to let people sniff it. I was approached by 4 different scent girls (all with different scents), and yeah, chocolate was the nicest.

A few more of the AXE girls. One girl sprayed some scent for me. Normally they'd walk away after a brief comment or what, but this particular girl hung around my table. I was curious, so I brought up some small talk. I said "So you'll be spraying all night?" Very poor choice of words.

Throughout the event, Serena C would emcee for a while, and then a group of dancers would pick out one guy and drag him in the midst of him, dancing around him, lap dancing and kissing his chest. All to bring across the image of AXE as irresistable to women. 5 scents meant 5 themes and 5 groups of girls. And 5 very lucky guys.

The first one! I mentioned lap dancing and stuff right? I don't know what you call this. Head dancing? Lucky guy, that girl in red was the prettiest and hottest girl out of all the dancers the entire night. And the most risque.

Nurse theme. Their costumes were probably the sexiest, although the girls weren't the hottest. This guy got a kiss on his chest. Yeah, that's real lipstick from one of the nurses lips.

And I mentioned Ryan's friend was one of the organizers right? Well, he set up Ryan to be one of the lucky victims as well!

Don't forget that Ryan's girlfriend was there too! She was cool with it though. Pretty awesome of her to be alright seeing all the chicks dance around her boyfriend.

Did I mention that she approved it to Ryan's friend beforehand?

They even poured chocolate syrup on him. The only one to get that privilege.

I had to help him clean up afterward -.-.

Booya!

I nearly ended up being a victim. For an African themed dance, me and Radius were watching behind an Italian Iranian who just happened to walk in front of me. Then as the girls were getting nearer, they grabbed the Italian just as he stopped in front of me! LOL! I don't know whether that was a waste, or a relief. Tempting on one side, embarassment from the other.

Afterward some guys in uniforms came out and start shouting and yelling. They gathered up all the Malays (or people that would typically look like Muslims) and the music stopped. The lights stopped flashing, and a lone man stood in the middle shouting to everybody. A raid?! I was like "Wow, what a way to spoil a launch event". Then later on I found out it was a prank. Although pulled off pretty well.

These girls came up on stage afterward. That's why I knew it was a prank. Lmao. Police chicks!

Towards the end of the night, they announced that an iPod Touch was up for grabs. However, the only people eligible were the guys who were the girl's victims. Turns out that they recorded every victim, and played it out on the screen. The winner would be the one with the best crowd reaction, depending on the victim's expressions and reactions during the dance. At this point, I wanted to be victimized! An iPod Touch!

Ryan left early with his girlfriend and friends, leaving only Radius and I. So unluckily for Ryan, he didn't get to compete for the iPod. Worst thing is, he had the best crowd reaction! Dang! I told him and he was like so regretful! LOL!

So since he wasn't there, the remaining guys were determined by crowd reactions. It ended up being a draw between two guys. The nurse victim, and another guy. To determine the winner, both had to do a striptease on the stage.

I don't need to tell you that this guy won.

The night was your everyday clubbing night interspersed with the emcee-ing of Serena C and the themed dances. So while there wasn't any lucky victim or emcee-ing, it was the girls who used the stage.

And this particular group got my attention. Especially the one in the middle.

I actually never got a good look at her face that night itself. When I googled the event to see the feedback and pictures, I realized I wasn't the only one who took notice of this group. They were perhaps the highlight of the general public.

Well. Hot, but not as pretty as I imagined. She did seem prettier in person. I guess the lights made it harder to see.

I like the teacher-theme dancer here the best. I don't know why. And no, it's got nothing to do with Ms Koeh being a teacher -.-.

CLASS - Come Late And Start Sleeping

Hell, class starts in one hour and I just woke up!

So what am I doing blogging? 'Cause I left myself online, and I fell asleep. Zzz.

Yesterday was weird. I was asked to watch a movie by three different groups of people. Lol, Zi Yuan and her new friend I just met, Ai Lee and Dennis. All in Pyramid!

And congrats Faith for finally getting married. Heh. And best wishes to Shana and Fei Yan for their joint celebration last week.

I'm so dead for class. Sorry May Ann!

Aye... about time -.-.

Lol, I don't know where to start. I remember I said I owed a lot of posts. Reading back from my posts... I owe the Genting trip, my trip back in Singapore, with details on the secondary school reunion, my near-gangsterism experience a few months back, Asia Conference 2010, my band performances, the launch of AXE in Euphoria and a bunch of stuff in the last few weeks, which for some reason, I can't remember =/.

I'm currently listening to music at the moment... so I guess I'll start with the band performances?

On May 22nd, Dong Tai Du had their event for indie bands called Music Reunion 8.

These were the bands invited to perform. My personal favourites were The Metaphor and Xerpent. Little Green Frog was also pretty nice. I didn't get to hear the rest though.

Joseph helping me put eyeliner... first time I'm having a guy putting it on me. I've always had girls put it on for me previously. Like Jessica in Singapore, Shana in KL, my mom (don't laugh!)

Anyway, this was my first ever band performance! And I was bloody nervous! A few years back I had quite an interest in singing and music, but it kinda died off till I joined the band. I was told to headbang when I could, but heck, I'd never headbanged in front of hundreds of people before. Regardless, after setting up, it began!

Night Prowler was the first band to start things up. They're all uncles. The youngest guy was 60-something. The vocalist needed to look at lyrics all the time, and couldn't really be heard. On the right side, the guy in grey is some Japanese dude who's freaking cool and funny. He helped to bring up the mood for the band though. We were after them.

And after setting up, it was our turn. Me on the keybord synths, Joseph as the vocalist, Jeev on the drums, Kai for bass and Ryan on the guitar. We are As Naive Killer.

Cool lighting doesn't hurt =p.

This was the crowd we played for. We played 3 of our own songs, titled: "Still On Time to Catch Up On My Christmas Dinner", "The Phone Killed Me While Playing This Song" and "Me And Your Alcoholism"

As a bonus, we also did a heavy metal cover of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance". This got the most reaction from the crowd, which was a bit mild for all the bands. Although we heard a few hours later for the other bands, under the influence of the alcohol, they actually moshed.

That's not even my laptop -.-, lol. But I use it for the virtual keyboard and the synths (sound effects).

And finally, after a nerve-wracking performance, we finished. My legs were shaking when I was walking off. Seriously.

This is The Metaphor. This was my favourite band that day. They've got no vocals at all. It's purely music. But their music is supremely awesome. It's melodic, yet heavy, with a touch of metal. It's really hard to describe them. They're just amazing.

This is Hwee Ling, their keyboardist. She's very talented, and I got to say hi in the next performance...

Yeah, our next performance was right after Asia Conference. Asia Conference was sandwiched in between our two gigs.

The next performance went much better, and it was a great time to know the other indie bands. And most of the bands that day played some heavy metal!

There were less bands, and it was less formal, so it was more cozy and cool. And more personal.

We were the third to perform. We performed the same songs as last time, as we couldn't practice new material in time. After coming back from Asia Conference, we had less than a week.

All of us. The stage was tiny. Radius joined the band as the new bassist, and Kai's moved on to become the 2nd guitarist. If you're wondering what Justin was doing there, it was to fill in for Jeev, who had some things to do in Perak. Much appreciated!

But look what he does to his drum sticks -.-. LOL!

Me with the laptop again. Lol. I'm like the most unimpressive looking one on stage. Everyone's got a cool instrument to show off. I'm just standing with a laptop -.-.

However, credits to whoever photographed this. Probably the nicest shot of my synths. You can see the virtual keyboard on the screen. As its only the length of one octave, I use other keys to move to higher or lower octaves, but I can't do full chords.

This kid was cute and awesome. He actually headbanged! HAHA! And he even put up the devil horns and flowed with the music. Damn cool!

As Naive Killer. This performance was much better than the previous one and more enjoyable too.

I wasn't as nervous this time, but my headbanging wasn't as hard as they expected. I practiced a bit in the studios while we practiced, but I didn't do it on stage -.-.

And I'm like the most still one. Lol, the rest are all cool and moving! Aiks.

The crowd, while another band performed. The crowd was smaller, but more lively. Xerpent was probably the highlight of this night, with their death metal. The vocalist is pure awesome! And he's freaking humble and down to earth.

While AWAKE and Xerpent performed, mainly ANK, plus the emcee, went to headbang. Full of whiskey and beer. Joseph headbanged so hard he actually took an MC the next day -.-. I'm in the background, drinking beer =p.

And I got a picture with a girl. The beer girl I ordered from was also gorgeous. But she left early. Zzz.

All in all, a great night. I had a great time getting to chat with the other band members and shake hands, as well as say hi to Hwee Ling (The Metaphor dropped by that night). Also, Shana was supposed to come and support us, but she had her CHEER gathering, so oh well =/. This gig was a charity gig though, so everything went to a certain organization I can't remember. Through ticket sales and beer alone for such a small crowd, we raised over RM700 for some children in need.

How about that? Heavy metal that gives back to society!
