I'm tired, but well rested, lol.
Okay, let me explain, I took the whole week off prior to Chinese New Year, because my bosses wanted me to clear my leave, and also because I hadn't taken any leave the whole year prior. Partially it was because there wasn't really any place to go due to all the restrictions, and also partially because the 2 month break I had because of the first provincial lockdown last year gave me quite some time to rest and chill anyway, so I felt like I had my share of holidays.
So mostly it was just gaming, chilling and cooking. I finally finished The Last of Us 2 at last, knowing what happened to make the game so divisive. And now that I'm done, I feel conflicted, as I'm sure Naughty Dog intended. I get what they were trying to do, and in some cases I liked it, and in some cases I didn't. But either way, still a great game, even if I hated the fact that Joel got killed off so early. Zzz. I cooked also, because Onion does the majority of the cooking, and since she was still working, I took most of the cooking duties. But what made me tired was all the major cooking we did for Chinese New Year. Since the province is still under lockdown and the cases, while dropping, are still pretty high, my grandma was worried about COVID-19. She said not to visit her this year for the reunion dinner, but she'd cook some dishes and have my cousin Chloe deliver it to us, which was nice. But due to the lack of a typical Chinese meal, the waifu got ambitious and decided we should make Hakka Fried Pork, Buddha's Delight and Seafood Pen Chai and also fried Nian Gao. So ridiculously time consuming, lol, it was exhausting. But the food was worth it. The dishes turned out really well, and I will never take my relatives' CNY cooking for granted ever again. Lmao. Still, we were pretty proud of the dishes, and they tasted fantastic. We dropped some of the nian gao to Chloe too.
For Valentine's, since we couldn't go out and book a restaurant, we ordered take out instead. We got some steak and calamari from Jack Astor's, and really small brownies, like ridiculously small, lol. We ate to the point we were completely bloated and that was that. The next day was more romantic. We had wine, cheese and pepperoni while playing Viticulture, a board game we've been eyeing for some time and picked up over the weekend. Let's just say becoming the best wine maker in Tuscany is a cutthroat business =). We got off to a slow start but around the middle of the game, we started playing much more aggressively... I SLAUGHTERED THE ONION (she wrote that, as well as the last paragraph, lol). But yes, I did win, but only because I had the judge winter visitor card and took the victory from right under her cute little nose =). Otherwise I would have lost, because although we were tied for victory points, she had more money. It was a fun game, and we really enjoyed it, making a lot of jokes—autofellatio, yo!
It's back to work today so oh well. It was a good break and a lovely time with the waifu <3. The fifth year anniversary of our BPS Japan Trip is in two months so I'll probably write up a long detailed post of the entire trip before I forget the finer little details. It'll be nice to reminisce.
