So I ended up having my quarantine birthday at home, lol. To celebrate, Pik Lin♡ bought Jollibee delivery, and we had a very sumptuous meal. And to add to it, I even had a group video chat with Beefy Porn Star Club and Essenism respectively. She planned it all secretly! She noticed I was very appreciative when James and Paula sang Happy Birthday to me after handling the livestreaming of the church service, so she concocted a super spy plan to gather BPS and Essenism for the respective video calls. Despite such a last-minute request, everyone was available for it, which was really surprising. Yeah, I mean, everyone's at home, but still, errands, life and all. Was a really pleasant surprise and I was touched by the effort from my love (and everyone else for showing up of course, lol). Had a great time catching up with everyone to see how they were all doing.
Two weeks back my boss called me to tell me she planned to open the office again on June 1, despite the lockdown measures still in place. And I had an assignment for some rugs that I needed to complete, so I spent the remaining week doing it up. And today was my first day of work since the quarantine measures started. Everyone was pretty chirpy and chatty, considering the lack of communication. Then Elizabeth, Vivian and I were informed about us moving to a new space that my bosses had bought over the lockdown. As part of the Amazon/online team, the 3 of us were to move to the new unit, about a 5 minute walk from the old unit. So we had to pack our stuff and bring it over. The new office looks much nicer and fancier, and 3 of us were given our individual rooms, like managers. Lmao. Despite the vastly empty space from the remaining cubicles and meeting spaces, the rest of the wholesale team will be staying at the current unit. Partially for social distancing measures, and partially 'cause they want to divide up the online and wholesale team more for growth, respectively. So, despite being in the same space, the 3 of us can't really talk to each other as we're all separated, except for lunch and walking to each others rooms, right next to each other.
It's pretty funny. I've never had my own private room in any workplace I've been at before, so it feels... weird. I guess this is what managers who're given their own space feel like. They get to handle their own stuff in private and all, and have people come in to communicate. I've always been on the other side of the table. Now I get to experience that... with no one on the other side, hah!
Either way, back to work life for now. At least the buses are empty (and therefore, much faster), and the weather's nice. I suppose it's about a good a time as any to restart. Now, as for my body clock...
